The Georgia Historic Preservation Division welcomes student interns from colleges and universities across Georgia and the Southeast. Our interns often have a background and interest in academic areas such as African American studies, anthropology, archaeology, architecture, architectural history, city planning, geography, historic preservation, public history, public information/public relations, urban studies, and women’s history.

HPD offers a limited number of internships through colleges and universities that are supplemented by tuition assistance. HPD also periodically has paid internships available that do not come with tuition credit, as well as unpaid internships. Internships are based on an academic calendar and require the intern be enrolled part- or full-time in an accredited college or university. The intern must arrange for and work with an appropriate supervising faculty member during the internship. HPD also offers opportunities for unpaid internships meeting the above requirements.
